Dr. Kari Leavell received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at Texas A&M University, and she is has been a devoted Texas Aggie since her time in College Station, Texas. She pursued her graduate training at the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, MS (ranked #1 by counselingpsychology.org!) where she earned her M.A. in Psychology and Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology. Dr. Leavell has clinical experience working with adults, couples, college students, and inpatient populations, in the following settings: private practice, community clinics, university counseling centers, hospital psychiatric units, and substance abuse treatment centers.
Outside of her role as a psychologist, Dr. Leavell enjoys being a partner and spouse to her Aggie-sweetheart and training her puppy, Dublin. In terms of self-care, an important aspect of Dr. Leavell’s personal and professional life, she engages in group fitness and plays racquetball, eats a (mostly!) clean diet, and enjoys shopping for shoes and going to the movies.
